I need help translating a few words

( Mods: if you find this comment a violation of the rules or just inappropriate, you have the right to remove it.)

I know this comments going to sound "odd", but I just needed a bit of help. I was trying to translate these two words ( sorrow, and Despair) into Japanese on google translate, and I was wondering if this is the correct translation of the two words.

If you must know the reason why, I wanted to get a tattoo of both words on both of my arms if I can get to Japan of my 22 birthday.

So here is what I came out with on google translate.

( As of google translate) Despair= 絶望

( As of google translate) Sorrow= 悲しみ

Is this correct?

You want to go to Japan with those words tattooed on yourself? Bad plan.

If you want to go to Japan, don't get tattoos that are conspicuous. In fact, if you want to go to Japan, probably just avoid getting a tattoo at all. Yakuza tend to get full body tattoos so tattoos are often (is it safe to say mostly?) associated with said group. I understand that like how some places have 'no shirt no shoes no service' some establishments also have an additional 'tattoos = no service' clause.

I am going to have the tattoos where no one can see them unless I lift up the sleeves. Besides, I've seen some writers (mangakas) with tattoos before. What about Vk bands? I incorporate that style when I go over to Japan and write. Besides, what person would pull up my shirt sleeve? Unless they're weird. If the publishing company can't see it, then they will still hire me to become a mangaka.

Right?

Right?

These are very negative concepts to have printed permanently on your skin, and it would be a turn-off to many Japanese if they saw them. It's almost like cursing yourself.

You said you are going to get these tattoos IF you can go to Japan. I would say get the tattoos if you CAN'T go to Japan.

Okay, thanks. I'll take your advise.... ^__^

Yeah, you might think these words are deep/edgy/cool in English, but the tattoos will mortify most Japanese.

Could this possibly be JF's first successful don't-get-a-tattoo thread?

I think it's most likely because I didn't participate.

OH NO! Now I have! (cue OP posting his new tattoos!)
