Japanese Ukiyo-e Art albums books - 02-14-2011, 05:45 PM

I have two books that are written in Japanese that I have not been able to find.
I Have copied the Nameplates from both books and will insert them here. I hope someone can tell me what the titles are and if they have any value. Also if there is a Web site that i can look at that has the books.
Thanks
Joe

title:
浮世繪畫集(ukiyo e syo syu)第二輯(dai ni syu)
浮世繪畫集(ukiyo e syo syu)
nearly meaning "Ukiyo-e Art albums part2" and "Ukiyo-e Art albums"

publishing 聚精堂("syu sei dou" or "syuu sei dou")
these books were published in 1912 and 1911.

I've heard this company, but that company doesn't exist any longer.
I'm sorry that I can't help you

To be frank for one minute, do you think if you went on a site for English learners, anyone there could tell you what your copy of Jeremy and Tom Go to the Moon, printed in 1945, is worth?

RT: While your transcription of the titles are correct, it would actually be pronounced "Ukiyo-e gashuu" (you may recognize it more simply written as 浮世絵画集).

Also, to the OP: The value of used books varies greatly based on the condition and demand, also there could be different printings with color plates/without/etc. That said, a used bookseller in Japan currently has a first edition (Japanese-style binding) of second volume for sale for about US$100 (note, that's the price he's selling it at, not the price he bought it at). If you want to know more about the book, it may be better to contact a used book seller or academic library specializing in East Asian studies in your area.
