Japanese oral test tomorrow, need a bit of help - 03-08-2011, 10:30 PM

Hi, I am new to the forum. Above is the link to (Or image of) the questions I have, here are the answers I have for each of them and I would like to see if I am right in answering

1. Watashi wa Minato desu
2. Ju-roku sai desu
3. I think she will say a kind of weather and I will say if I agree with her or not
4. iiya, ko-ko sei
5. Apple valley sun de masu
6. go-nin (kazoku desu?)
7. Chichi to Haha to anii wa futari to watashi
8. (Do I like whatever she says, so dai ski desu or something if I really like it)
9. (Whatever time it is, the quiz will be around hachi ji han)
10. I am not entirely sure what the kanji or question is, could you help?

1. Have you learned 〜といいます yet? And you don't need わたしは anyway.
2. Assuming you mean じゅうろくさい by ju-rokusai, then OK.
3. That's what it looks like to me.
4. いいえ not いいや, and you need a です at the end.
5. You need a に between where you live, and すんでいます. Also, it's います at the end, not ます. For example, "I live in New York City" is ニューヨーク市にすんでいます。
7. The question is how many people, not who they are.
8. Yes, but it's spelled だいすき not "ski"
9. Correct.
10. なんじにおきますか。 is the kana of the entire question.

Thank you! I would use kana but I haven't installed the language pack on this computer yet. Also, I am in first year so I haven't learned much haha.

I can, just can't type it. I meant the thing in windows that allows you to type.

You can. You just don't know how. It's in your language setting or something. I use a mac now, it's a lot easier to switch languages.

There's a thread at the top of the front page of JF's Japanese Language Help subforum explaining how to enable Japanese input on your Windows computer. It's outrageously easy; you could do it right now in about 2 minutes without needing any CD.

This is interesting. From what I have learnt, the former is correct but somehow I often hear the actors say the latter in dorama.

Maybe you hear いや, but I don't think you're hearing いいや.
