Japanese ime help?

Hey everyone im new to this site just so you know...lol

anyways im just wondering if anyone can help me..
i have the japanese input on my netbook, but the kana wont show on notepad. it just shows as something like this.. 00000000000 like square zeros.
but its perfectly fine when im typing it on the internet...as you can see

Notepad is a non-Unicode program. It does not support Japanese unless you do some extra steps. I ditched Windows a couple years ago, so I can't remember what that entails.
Regardless, switch to Notepad++. It's infinitely better than Notepad. You're welcome.
