Another card. One piece missing only. - 08-10-2011, 03:44 PM

Hello again.

I've just finished piecing another card's text together but need some help on this one too. Here's the new card:

Uploaded with ImageShack.us

Note that for each of these kinds of cards, the first line is what the card is called, i.e, it's title.

I've gotten all the text down except the one in the red circle. I can't find it anywhere. Tried searching the kanji, hiragana and katakana text but didn't find it anywhere. Could someone tell me text this is or write it down here in text form?

Also, as for the rest, like before, would appreciate if someone could check for any text mismatched:

刷_込み
インプリンティング
付加
このカードを付けられ
た兵器系以外の怪獣は
反逆しなくなる

Once again, appreciate any kind of help.

It's ironic you got all the complicated kanji, but not 'ri.' XD

Thanks for the help. But I can't understand the translation:

The final text is:

刷り込み
インプリンティング
付加
このカードを付けられ
た兵器系以外の怪獣は
反逆しなくなる

Translation is:

Attaching this card of surprinting in printing addition Is the monstrous beast other than weapon system stops revolting

???

At least the translation in the last topic made enough sense to understand at this point.

Can anyone make sense out of this one?

Yes. I was really getting annoyed at the fact that I got ALL the other hard ones but couldn't find this one simple piece of text...

I can't really help you that much because I'm a noob, but this is what I can give you.

'刷り込み' [すりこみ] is 'imprinting or stenciling.'
'インプリンティング' is just 'imprinting' in katakana.
'付加' [ふか] is 'addition' or 'appendage.'
'このカードを付けられ' I presume the first part means 'this card' and then the last bit '付け' means to fix.
'た兵器系以外の怪獣は' I have no idea about this, sorry ^_^;
'反逆' means mutiny/rebellion. 'なくなる' means to die or to dissapear but I'm not sure what is meant.

Sorry I'm not much help, but I've been trying to learn more kanji so trying to figure it out is useful for me too.

You said you were using Babelfish, which, in my opinion, is the worst of all the online translators I've found for Japanese to English. Sometimes it will come through where others don't, but only rarely.

If you're going to use OTs for quick and dirty translations, I think it's most helpful to run it through more than one, and compare the gibberish they spit back.

For example, Google returns:
Imprinting
Imprinting
Addition
Attached to this card
Other non-monster weapon system
Longer treason

While excite.co.jp gives you:
Imprinting
Imprinting addition
Monsters other than the arms system to which this card is put up do not rebel.

I don't know anything about your game (and not much more about Japanese), but the excite version looks to me like it ought to make enough sense to you.

Thank you GinaS.

You are right. I did not know about the other sites. Babel fish seemed to be the most common so I used it.

That last translation looks good to me. I'll experiment the situation and observe the card's effect. Will reply in a while.

EDIT: Made the situation happen and saw the effect. The monster to which this card was applied to (the imprinting, addition and attached bit in the card I think) didn't, according to the game's rules, "revolt". Instead, the next guy to whom the card was not applied to, revolted.

Once again, my curiosity is satisfied. I'm finding out the functions of these cards for the first time, despite my having played the game for years.

Ah, so I wasn't far off then! Cool! The fact that it's a video game makes a lot of sense. I use games to learn Japanese, I play Japanese pokemon because it's easy to read. XD
