Ox Herding Translation. - 08-22-2011, 05:26 PM

This set of two Ox Herding pictures was painted and written by Zen Roshi Zenkai Shibayama - and presented to my (Buddhist) Teacher's teacher, and are now in my possession. I am an author writing about Zen Buddhism and would request an exact translation of the verse:

I am comparing translations of this (originally) Chinese text - with the above written by a Japanese Zen master.

Thank you

I can't read it, but I know Zenkei Shibayama(柴山全慶).

that picture is similar to kigyukika(騎牛帰家) in Juugyuuzu(十牛図).

Thank you. Zenkei Shibayama presented these 2 paintings to Charles Luk (1898-1978), as a gift in remembrance to Ch'an (Zen) master Xu Yun (1840-1959).
