How to write your name in Japanese

What about translating name meanings? For example my name (Justin) means "true or just" and so the Japanese translation is "Shin" which means "true". Has anyone else tried translating their name in this matter?

Japanese pronunciation is simple; it's a syllabary.
I'm assuming yours came out as タイラー.
タ - Ta
イ - I
ラ - Ra
ー - Trailing (unlike in Hiragana, you do not repeat a character to double a vowel sound, you simply add a trailing mark such as this to double the vowel)

Ta as in Tah
I sounds like E
Ra as in Rah, with a slight trail at the end for the vowel sound.
A little hard to explain, much easier if you hear it...

PS: Foreign names are very easy, don't need to bother using some machine translator. All foreign names are written in katakana, and since it's a syllabary, it's very easy to piece together names.
