Good find NinjaKasumi. There's this version of Katrina in Japanese :

Translating western names into Japanese is a bit touchy. The sound must be translated into japanese phonetics and then the proper characters must be chosen accordingly. Sometimes there is no equivalent sounds in Japanese and the closest proximity must be chosen arbitrarily and will vary depending on the translator.

And I've got my own hanko for "Avary" :

Since there is no "va" sound in japanese the katakana for "ba" is used, so "Avary" in Japanese is said "Abari".

Hee hee, I am already Japanese, so my name is a Japanese one. Even so, I translate it into Katakana just because it's easier for me to recognize. I also know my name in several other languages, and I get a lot of requests in school to do people's names in Katakana. Anyways, here ish my name (see attatchment). It means "many good virtues" when in kanji form.

Ah! Badly-drawn paint picture! Fear teh crappiness! XD

Ha ha, I know what you mean. I have so much trouble doing some American names like names with "v" and "li/le". There's a whole alphabet of Katakana for this stuff and there's still holes here and there. >_< I'm gonna complain to someone! Sue, sue, sue! $_$
