I am living in Taiwan.
But I want to live in Japan someday.
So I always want to have my own Japanese name.

This is my Japanese name :

Japanese : みつき(First name) もとせ(Last name)
Chinese : 光姫(First name) 本瀬(Last name)
English : Mitsuki(First name) Motose(Last name)
Korean : 미츠키(First name) 모토세(Last name)

My result of Japanese names generator
日本語 : みんな(姓) しょうた(名前)
漢字 : 水納(姓) 笑太(名前)
ローマ字 : Minna(姓) Shota(名前)
ハングル(韓国語) : 민나(姓) 쇼타(名前)

90% of Japanese family names are based on geographic conditions. Combinations of 田山川岸村木橋 and 上下中東西南北 will cover 60% of the Japanese family names.

Because most of Japanese people (farmers) does not have their family names before MEIJI era, they named their selves after the location of their living area like as 山田 (YAMADA: rice field in the mountain), 中村 (NAKAMURA: center of the village), 田中 (TANAKA: in the middle of the rice fields) and so on.

Families with Non-geographic family names are descendants of SAMURAI or noble people. For example, 藤原(FUJIWARA),佐藤(SATO),加藤(KATO),藤田(FUJITA),藤本(FUJIMOTO) etc are related (vassal) families of the great FUJIWARA family.

In KYOTO, you will find strange names originated after noble positions.

In OKINAWA, they have their own RYUKYU origin names.

If you have Japanese friends, ask them what the origin of their family names are.

And I am also interested in the family names of foreign countries. How about in Taiwan?
