vocab-sentence game
 

i guess this is kinda like an SAT-vocabulary thread my friend showed me somewhere, but here, use the Japanese vocab that someone passes to you.

e.g. i pass the word "watashi"
the next person would have to use "watashi" in a sentence.

はじめましょう！

I pass the word "wakarimasen" or "wakaranai".

Yaksokuda, yep, your sentence is correct.

kowai obaasan wa amari suki dewa arimasen.

I'll pass the word kawaii.

Midori-chan wa kawaii desu ne?

ummm you probably need a に after 八月 because youre specifying a time

lol thats a new word for me, so im not exactly sure how to use it.. but here goes

医者さんに結果聞いていただいてから、いそいそ(に?)走 って帰った
isha san ni kekka kiite itadaite kara, isoiso (ni?) hashitte kaetta
After hearing the news from the doctor, he/she/i ran home excitedly

ill pass on 食事（shokuji)

i believe it is "いそいそと”
here's an example sentence i found in the same dictionary

as i'm not that great at japanese, i kinda don't understand ur sentence. :o i have a question:
why is there a "ja" after "teppanyaki"? what does it mean? thanks much! ur helping me learn a lot of japanese!

i pass- 章気 (shouki) miasma

返る meaning return, but not in the way that you wanted to use it in that sentence (correct me if im wrong)
from what i understand, 返る is used as 'return' in cases such as "i returned to books to 82riceballs", "please return those tools", "he returned my pen" etc
imo, for that sentence, if she came from Chiba to begin with, you could use 帰る, you could also use 戻る(modoru), which also means return
i know that 戻る can be used to "i want to return to that time/place" but im not sure about returning objects

ill pass 放射性(houshasei)- radioactive

放射性物質はウランやプルトニウムを包括します。
houshasei busshitsu wa uran to purutoniumu ya houkatsu shimasu.

Radioactive substances includes uranium, plutonium, etc. (please correct my sentence if it doesn't make sense)

I pass: 池（いけ）pond

池 (ike = pond)

かれはかれの彼女を持っていって、池に鴨を見ます。
Attempted sentence: He brought along his girlfriend to see the duck's at the pond.

I pass on the word ”苺大福” (ichigodaifuku), meaning "rice cake stuffed with strawberry jam".

i'm not sure, but i think u could omit the second "kare" and the "no"..... i'm not good enough at japanese to know all the rules...
but that was a nice sentence!

苺大福は食べたことがないけど、おいしいものらしい。 ちょう食べたい！ I've never eaten ichigodaifuku, but I've heard that it's delicious. I really want to eat it!

i pass: 二度

instead of using 持っていて, you should use つれて行って
you shouldnt use the word "持って" when talking about talking a person
つれる sort of means to lead someone to a place

e.g.駅まで連れて行った- He/She/I took him/her to the station
ここまでつれてきてる- He/She/I is bringing him/her here

It is definitely true that material things can be bought with money. However, the most important things (e.g. friendship, happiness, time, etc) can not possibly be bought with money.

Boy, what a mouthful! That's the longest sentence I've ever written... Hope it makes sense!

Not to be a stick in the mud, but I have a suggestion... I love the game but I think you can get more to play if you add an english translation so those who are to that level yet can understand and start learning a little more as we play.

1. 2. 3. and plus, u have to make a sentence out of the word that the previous post passed b4 u can pass a word to the next person, 分かる understand??? In other words, u can't pass a word, since u didn't use the word passed to u (in this case: かもしれない/kamoshirenai)

しつれいしました。 I was using my textbook to construct the 'to bring' part and accidently used motteiku/kuru instead of tsureteiku/kuru. Haha. :rolleyes:

つぎに、つかていて”かもしれない”。 In English: Next, the usage of kamoshirenai.

今夜は雨が振ってかもしれない。　In English: It might rain tonight.

I pass on the word "交通事故" (meaning: traffic accident).

I might be wrong, but I think the kanji for "furu" is 降る. btw, what textbook do u use (u seem pretty good at japanese, that's why i'm asking :) )?

「ひどい交通事故があったみたい。たぶん、飲酒運転者 のせいだ」"hidoi koutsuujiko ga atta mitai. tabun, inshu untensha no seida" Seems like a bad accident. Probably because of a drunk driver.

im not that good at explaination, but if you got questions about that post it in the help thread, the ones that know how to explain well (i.e. MMM, masaegu, etc) go there more often

(of course, that's not really the truth...=)

i pass: ちょっぴり a little; a bit

when you use 一番, you need to also state what it is number 1 for
e.g. you could say 「一番美味しい食べ物だ」- best tasting
or: 「好きな食べ物の中で第一番」- number 1 out of my favourite foods
umm theres some other ways you can say it but i cant think of them at the moment ><
