everyone must use Denshi Jisho - Online Japanese dictionary. it's is officially the best j-e, e-j dictionary on the web. (well u don't have to use it, but i thought it might be nice to share this one cuz it's so useful)

That's pretty good. I never knew about that one. The good references for me back in the day were Jim Breen's WWWJDIC (he's a nice guy, too) and Space ALC's www.alc.co.jp. Space ALC puts out some good Japanese grammar books, too.

But I own a few physical dictionaries (very good kanji ones in paper form and vocabulary ones electronic), so I only use online dictionaries (which are always inferior) when I don't have those at hand.

Yeah, there's a clone of this on the iTouch/iPhone called "kotoba"

It's amazing, as is Jisho.org. I love the sentence search function too, comes in handy when I'm trying to check myself.
