Beginners Japanese Thread! - 11-23-2006, 04:28 PM

The other Japanese Thread is great, but what if someone doesn't know any kanji, or can't even get an IME?

In this thread, we can help people with Japanese by posting in English, Japanese, and/or Romaji.

I know some people don't know Japanese grammar very well. I don't have a big vocabulary, either.

This topic is for beginners trying to learn, and people who are better at speaking Japanese can help also!

----------------------------

I know, I'm not very good at Japanese, and I only know like...10 kanji XD

こんにちはみんな!私はハイヂです。どおぞよろしく。 おげんきですか?
konnichiwa minna! watashi wa Heidi desu. doozo yoroshiku. ogenki desu ka?

私は15です。日本語がすきですよ。
watashi wa 15 desu. nihongo ga suki desu yo.

Hah, lame, I know XD

I can't post any of my articles - 11-23-2006, 09:00 PM

I'm writing a series of Beginner to intermediate Japanese instruction articles for a site called otakugeeksquad.org. My articles will be coming out next month. I would be willing to upload them to everyone but this site does not support uploading .doc files, which is kind of silly. Does anyone know who to talk to to get that working?

My first recommendation thought would be to learn Hiragana and Katakana. It is not hard, people just don't really try to learn it. Learning the kana will help you on pronunciation more than anything else.

This is a pronunciation article that I've written for a site that will be open to the public for viewing in January and will debut for business around June.

All contents Copyrighted by Matthew Parry, 2006, all rights reserved and whatever.Topic 01 - Sec 1 - Pronunciation^.doc

Please give me some feed back on this article. It was originally written for another site so there are some references in it that might not make sense. Each level represents an increasing degree of depth on the topic. Enjoy!

(Oh, and I'm serious about the feed back thing!)

No your not lame, Just wanted to help correct your language. I'm assuming you want to say I'm 15 years old. It would be 私は15 歳です watashi wa 15 sai desu. Hope you continue with your Japanese. Good luck

What a good idea, this beginner's thread. Perhaps we could channel our resources by working together. I am most assuredly interested in helping however I can..
