Learning (Fluent) Japanese. Teachers? Websites?

I got the book for around $40 on amazon.com. I think the cds are $25-30 and the workbook is $20 I think. Sometimes you can find them cheaper on ebay though.

I'm trying to learn Japanese but I live in a place where anime and manga are like trying to have tea with a rabid squirrel.>< I go on websites and try and learn words from animes. You all are talking about these books called Genki? What are they and how do you get them?
