Writer in need of translations.. - 09-08-2007, 04:01 PM

Hi,

I am a danish writer, currently working on a short story. I need help having translated a few sentences into japanese. The short story is to be entered into a writers contest, so I don´t dare to trust the free online services.

Sentences needed to be translated:

"Leave me alone. I am part of the interior" (expressed politely)
"No, I can not be animated"
"Talkative" (used as a persons name)
"Dancing pleasure" (used as a persons name)
"Pleasure angel" (used as a persons name)

Kind Regards,

Dyveke

Are you wanting these in Japanese characters, or in this alphabet.

"Leave me alone. I am part of the interior" (expressed politely)
[interior of what?]

"No, I can not be animated"
[as in a cartoon?]

"Talkative" (used as a persons name)

"Dancing pleasure" (used as a persons name)

"Pleasure angel" (used as a persons name)

I am not sure what you mean by "name". Like someone's name will be "James Talkative"?

In the roman alphabet, yes, not the japanese.
And you are right about the use of "Talkative" as a name - only it will be used a first name, not a surname.

To repeat MMM's questions that you ignored:

"Leave me alone. I am part of the interior" (expressed politely)
[interior of what?]

"No, I can not be animated"
[as in a cartoon?]

The interior of a room - like a chair or another funiture.

Animated like you are able to animate your avatars in, for instance, Second Life!

If a person's first name was talkative, then it would be

"Shaberi" or "Oshaberi" which almost sounds like a name.

"Jyama shinaide kudasai. Kono heya no kagu desu."
Please don't bother me. I am a piece of furniture in this room."

I'll have to think about the others...

Leave me alone - 09-08-2007, 09:45 PM

For "leave me alone"...

Watashi no koto wo mushi shite kudasai

(Please ignore me)

I am part of the interior...

Watashi ha tada no naisou no ichibubun desu

(I am just part of the interior/ interior decoration)

My contribution would be...

"Leave me alone. I am part of the interior" = Sotto shite oite kudasai. Watashi wa naisou no ichibun desu.

"No, I can not be animated" = Iie, watashi ga umidasareru koto ga dekimasen. (where umidasu is 生み出す, roughly translated as "give life")

"Talkative" = the best translation could be "Jyouzetsuka" (written 饒舌家, "person who talks abundantly")

"Dancing pleasure" = Odori no yukai (but this actually means "the pleasure of dancing")

"Pleasure angel" = Yukai no tenshi (but this actually means "the angel of pleasure")
