Typing in Japanese - 09-10-2007, 07:52 PM

When i'm typing, everything works fine except for the letter "ru"
It just won't let me type it! It just types む where it's ment to type "ru" D:
The む key types just fine, so basically i have two of the same letter and one missing. It's really annoying. Does anyone know how to solve this?

Thank youu
xx

You could just type using romaji input like everyone else in the world...

Are you typing with an english keyboard on a non japanese operating system or do you have a japanese keyboard?

I have an english keyboard with a japanese IME mode thing on it, and it has all of the japanese letters (in hiragana) on the keys aswell as english letters, if that makes sense.

Hmm, well I'm going to guess that its either the program your using to type japanese or your keyboard itself. I use the JWPC word processor program with an english keyboard and everything has worked fine for me. If there are any customer reviews for your keyboard you might be able to find out if other people have had the same problem or you can try contacting whoever made it if you want.

it's a painful process, but you can go somewhere that has the symbol that you're missing, and copy and paste it.

as I just did from wikipedia... る

that's what you're missing, right?

you can save it in a word file and go back and reference it whenever you need to...just so you have it.

doesn't solve the problem, but it's a work-around, at least.

thnx boboloko for the sig!
