How do you stream by computer standard free-to-air Japanese TV into Australia i.e Channels 1,3,4,5 etc.?

Do you mean using something like a Sling Box?

I have found something like that about $300 for the equipment

Assuming it works in Japan, you have someone hook it up to their TV, and then you can watch Japanese TV...right?

Anyone had experience with them- I couldn't register to check the one hour free viewing and they have bad customer service.
