Japanese horror movies?

Recomend a horror movie.. a japanese horror movie (of course). one that scares the shit out you, good or bad? Me and some friends are going to collect horror movies. and i know japanese horror movies are. does anybody have a movie??

I'd definately recommend Audition, it scared me a lot - a very impressive movie. Hostel-ish? I haven't seen Hostel but from what I hear it's an all out gorefest? About 90% of Audition doesn't have any violence or gore and personally, the gore and violence isn't what really scared me in this film.

I watched Audition, it was... well, wrong and rather sick, but then again, it was also exceptional. What I am referring to as sick is the lady's torture methods.

The following recomendations are only for people who can somach a LOT of gore:

Ichi the Killer, Audition, Imprint, Gozu, MPD Psycho, Splatter: Naked Blood, Guniea Pig, Suicide Club, Noriko's Dinner Table, Exte, Battle Royale, Eko Eko Azaraku, Three Extremes, The Last Supper, Lady Snowblood, Em-Embalming.

The following are a lot safer, but still freaky:

One Missed Call, Ring, Ju-On, Tomie, Uzumaki, Dark Water, Pulse, Reserection, Marebito, infection, dragon head, endless dream.

Asian Movies that arent Japanese:

a Tale of Two Sisters, The Eye, Witchboard, Nightmare, Untold Story, Mamento Mory, Old Boy.
