Kurosawa's Rashomon has held a top place for me since my earliest memory. There is a ghostly scene that is unsurpassed. And I was in a production of the pllay in college.

But lately my favorite Japanese movie is Swing Girls. Great music, good acting, some really funny scenes and characters I can definitely identify.

As a whole, I was not thrilled with Shinobi, but the visuals for the movie are incredibly beautiful and I can just still and watch the scenery in it over and over.

Only an open mind and open heart can be filled with life.

I really like princess mononoke and origin (spirits of the past).
Does anyone who knows these anime movies know anything else I should watch?
something that is in the same line as these movies? I would really like to see more movies like those but there are sooooo many anime's with so many different themes that I don't know where to look.
