Hana Yori Dango - Live Action - 01-26-2009, 04:33 AM

Has anybody seen it? I started reading the manga, but I have to say: the drama is sooo much better!
I think it's really cute, and Makino's butt-kicking is down-right inspirational.

Discuss ^^

I watched the live action before reading the manga, so maybe I'm biased. I like the live action rather well, but the manga...irk. Very lame.

The art from the manga pretty much drove me mad. Domyoji's hair was just ridiculous! I couldn't get past it!!
Also, the drama seems to take its own little route, and at its own pace. I simply like it better.

What do you mean live action? The live action movie made before the drama? The drama itself? Or the Hana Yori Dango drama movie? Either way, the live action movie was lame and the drama and movie special were awesome!

ah, you gotta specify which live actions, there's a taiwanese, japanese and korean adaptations.

I've watched all three.
Japanese version, seen 1,2 and the film and that was the bulk of my teenage years. waiting for the HYD live actions.

I was too young for the taiwanese version, but i watched it later on and it is good, it follows the manga pretty well, but draggs on.

The korean live action has just started. so im following that pretty religiously, its got it's own twist and the actors are younger ish but so far, so good.

I read the manga too, completed it within a week, i couldn't stop. IT's a good plotline. Without it, you wouldn't have the live actions, so...you can't really compare acting and drawing ya'know. especially if its a manga cartoon.

Haha! tears are always good.

Sorry guys, I should have been more specific. All I've seen is the Japanese Drama. I knew there was a movie but I had no idea about the Korean and Taiwanese versions!!

XD Hahahaha!

I've never seen Meteor Garden or Boys Over Flowers. I'm hesitant about watching different adaptations of a drama. I watched Hana Kimi Taiwan after the Japanese version and it was pretty good, but dragged on soooooo much.
