What Is The Best Japanese Film You've Seen?

I like Dolls and Shmotsuma Story(Kamikaze Girls).

Dolls is a collection of stories focused on devotion, love and promises.
I don't want to give anything away but I highly recommend it.

Shmotsuma is about two girls, a yanki and lolita, who have a strange and strong friendship. I don't really want to say anything else. Just watch it, but BEWARE: SHOJO yo.

My favourite so far is Tokyo Gore Police, although I've got a list of films to find and watch. I also enjoyed Ichi The Killer and the Tetsuo films.

I have to say, Shinobi is amazing. One of the best I've seen. I'm currently importing Space Battleship Yamato on Blu-ray among other things. I wonder how good that one is. My expectations are high.

it is awful. just bad i think even Casshern was better.

for me among best would be Audition and 13 Assassins.
and Japan related (made by Clint Eastwood) Letters from Iwo Jima.

I haven't been able to watch it yet, but let me tell you this;

A while ago someone told me Harry Potter Deathly Hallows pt.2 is awful. A few days later I watched it and it turned out to be the best HP movie of them all.
A lot of people say the latest Star Trek movie is bad, then I watch it and it turns out to be great and extremely entertaining.
Many people also say the Twilight movies suck, guess what.. when i watched them they turn out to be very good movies.

Also people say the last two Matrix movies and Pirates of the Caribean 2 and 3 are worse then the first one. I disagree. I think they are just as good if not better then the first movies.

Why is it everytime that people say a movie is awful, stupid or bad they turn out to be great?!

you lost all your movie credibility when you said "good" and "twilight". if it was some sort of psychological horror movie, i would understand. a movie about cold blooded girl who messes with men's emotions, feeling no sorrow for them. but it is not. it is a romantic movie with the worst actors ever.

or maybe you meant "it is so bad...it's good"?

Nonsense. I allready know why everytime someone says a movie is bad I do like it.
I just know how to watch a movie. I know how to set aside my prejudices and thoughts... ...unlike most people.
Same goes for music with me. That's why I listen to every possible genre.

The actors of Twilight aren't bad, they are different. People are just not used to them.

I've finally watched Space Battleship Yamato. Awesome movie! Superb CGI, sounds and music are very good. The story is not the best one, but I understand why. It's based on anime and they had to tell that story in 2 hours and 13 minutes. That's a bit difficult, but they did a good job. I like it very much. And I love the concept of the Yamato ship.
9/10
