Both versions Ring 1 were good. The both were set properly and played out in both countries.

Ring 2 American Version wasn't too hot.

Ring 2, and Birthday (Japanese Version) were good.

I watched the Japanese Ring TV Series and even Rasen, the followup series.
Both were not too bad.

Sadako is going to have to upgrade to DVD and move to digital though if she is going to survive. Perhaps the Internet or streaming.

I prefer the Japanese version of The Ring and The Grudge (I have the Ju-on novel too) To me they seem much more real. Kinda like the Higurashi movie.

Thumbs up Ringu fo sho - 05-11-2010, 05:58 PM

I full am in support of Ringu as being the better movie. Even though the ghosts were blue and the blue was an obvious bright cool-aid red, the plot, character, and over all horror effect was far above it's American counter part.
TWO SEVERED THUMBS UP FOR RINGU!

I say that the Japanese versions have a little less effects, but all in all they made the movie better because of the storyline and the scenes.

Not being biased here but there are movies that the West should stop borrowing from the Japanese. There is even a time that I nearly puffed my coffee out of my mouth after hearing the rumors that there will be an American remake of Death Note and Zac Efron role-playing as Light. =_="
