If you're a fan of cute Japanese school girls doing kicking ass, then you'd love Karate Girl starring Rina Takeda - the fight scenes are full-on, no wirework or CG! Rina Takeda attended the Terracotta Far East Film Festival in London on 8 May for a special screening of Karate Girl and gave an impressive karate demonstration after the film. I was fortunate enough to have a one to one interview with her. She was very sweet and charming, not the tough girl like she plays in her films. You can read the interview here

Yeah, the fight scene from this movie was pretty amazing...... she is a blackbelt in Ryukyu Shorin-ryu karate... also starring Tatsuya Naka of the JKA, Kobayahi Yuka of Ashikara Kaikan, and the famous Deep fighter Watanabe Hisae... ... i really like this movie myself too

The guy in the photo above (assisting Rina with demonstration) is Adam, he's the Managing Director of Third Window Films DVDs - nice guy, met him many times. He stands about 6ft 4" - pretty tall, especially when standing next to Rina

It was all genuine stuff!!

Well, at least kicks and strikes of Rina Takeda look out much better than, say, silly jumps of Lucy Leu or Michelle Yeoh in Kung-Fu movies

Well, with Michelle Yeoh, its only because it was overdone by special effect employed in the HK and Chinese film industry. That girl can really fight...
