TV show credits "buta"
 

For a little while we had a preview of the "TV Japan" channel earlier this year. At one point we caught a show, I think it was the credits, where a square dog was rolling around on a path and every time he moved he would say buta. Then when he stopped you would hear a guy singing and the square dog would rock back and forth showing different sides of him with different Japanese characters. I can't remember what the show was. What I am mostly looking for is the audio to that part.

I don't think so. It is tough to tell because I don't speak Japanese and I don't see many images of the show. All I remember is what I described before. The square dog looked like it was made out of paper.

Oh, when I say square I actually mean a cube, brown I think.

I am not sure of which specific bit you are looking for, but that sounds like Botejin. It is a short on Pythagoras Switch, a kid's show made up of various short bits.

He is singing about himself, basically. The little box is singing, introducing himself and telling how he he communicates with the things written on him, introduces friends, how he is afraid of caterpillars, etc.
The lyrics are written on the box.

He sings as a very rough translationg:

I am, Botejin, good afternoon.
In front of me, there is a road. There is a road. Bote,bote,bote,bote.

I am, Botejin, with a square body.
The things I want to say are written. Bote bote bote etc

Friends, I'm introducing you.
Inu-ten (woof!) Ie-ten (?), woof-woof-woof-woof-woof-woof! x2 botebote etc

I am Ie-ten, I'm Inu-ten's house. (woof!)x2

My weak point, actually, is caterpillars.
