This was the second Drama I've seen. Yes, it was so very sad, yet so very good. I honestly can't think of any movie or show I have seen that came close to the amount of tears this can cause someone.

Someone gave me 1 Liter of Tears to watch the other day. I always meant to watch it and having nothing else to do I'm now about 1/2 way through the series (episode 6).

I'm bucking the trend here, but I'm not finding it all that sad. I mean, yes, there's an obvious thing here that a bright young girl is slowly fading, which is rather horrible, but at the same time I almost find it uplifting. In the face of something truly awful, they're all managing to rally around and make the best they can of things. Aya's really admirably strong, her family are just lovely. Some people are rather harsh or awkward about it, but then the kindnesses of other strangers just seem all the more meaningful.

So... I don't know how the rest of the story will pan out, but right now, every time things get a little bit worse and things get sad or awkward, and they have to adjust to accommodate it and in the face of it hold their heads up and keep going, I don't want to cry out of sympathy, I just want to cheer them more.

Certainly the best production I've watched in a long time.

I love Aya! It is because of her I'm almost done writing my first book.

I've started translating Aya's memoir into Arabic, as part of my translation practice. I really love her.

Didn't want to start a new thread so here!

Has anyone read the book? I'm having trouble finding the original (in Japanese) book online. Anyone know where I can get it? (Perhaps it's readily available in Japan in book stores?)
