Ok so does anyone like em?
Admittedly, I only heard of them when they did the Bleach and Naruto Shippuuden openings and endings. I think some of their songs are really good including Blue Bird. (I got all their albums.) So glad you asked...because it is a rare name for a band. Ikimono means 'life', 'living thing', etc. Kakari means a 'committee' in elementary and junior high schools in Japan. The Ikimono Gakari members are in charge of taking care of the small animals kept at the schools, which typically are chikens, birds, rabbits, carp, gold fish, etc. Just dunno the English term for it (or even whether schools keep animals in your country). My favorite Ikimono Gakari song: 'Sakura'

Track 4: 青春ライン Track 5: @Miso Soup Track 7: 花は桜 君は美し Track 8: ちこくしちゃうよ and Track 10: ニセモノ are so far my favourites.  ps. they do have school animals in the UK and those kids are just called "monitors" or something similar. My favourite songs by them are probably "Akane iro no yakusoku" and "Sakura" I highly recomend those songs
