most of the artists over there mix them both anyway so trying to put them in a category is most difficult indeed

Gackto-san is an incredibly talented performer. His musical styles include rock (I mean, ROCK), love songs and some stuff that may qualify as j-pop.

He's versatile and plays multiple instruments, including a host of asian stringed instruments. As an example, check out the shamisen performance from one of the concerts here.. (Needs audio, preferably loud).

And ya, he drives the girls wild. :D

Miyavi-san is a close second in talent, IMHO.
