After reading a interview from the Japanese blackened doom metal band, Gallhammer. Vivian Slaughter (lead singer of Gallhammer) said they were inspired by punk and black metal especially Hellhammer and Gackt. Which brings into question how does Gackt sound then? Gallhammer is really brutal and oppressive however there are some moments where they sound like 70-80's punk like Discharge and S.O.B. So does Gackt have that abbrasive late 70's early 80's hardcore punk sound? Are they like Black Flag, Discharge, GBH, S.O.B. (another great Japanese punk/hardcore band from the 80's I recommend) or Crass? I like checking out bands that enfluenced another band so I just wanted to know how they sound before I cough up cash for one of their CD's.
