lol The first Final Fantasy is not very long, because it was originally made for the NES. I highly recommend that you play VII. It has a vast storyline, and has very memorable characters.
Don't feel overwhelmed, if you are. I have not had time to play Final Fantasy games. I do recommend that once you start another one, stick with that one until you beat it, and then move on to a different one. Each Final Fantasy has its own feel, and battle system. Just to let you know, all of the Final Fantasy games from IX and below do not have the greatest graphics, but it is the gameplay, storyline and characters that matter the most.  I hope you enjoy them all. XD

Yeah, when Final Fantasy games are first released, they are quite expensive. Once they are out for about a year though, their sale price usually starts to decline. As Touya said, you can probably pick up "Dirge of Cerberus" pretty cheap now, especially since its been out for about three years already. (That's hard to believe. Man does time go fast!)

Yeah, well, I'm sure you will find a decent job sometime. Get a job at a game store, and then you'll get discounts on the games that you buy.
Anyway, has anyone played Final Fantasy VII: Crisis Core yet?

I am supposed to start a job Monday, but I lost my keys and can't get into my apartment... so I can't shower or anything.
