I don't get it. Just why is everyone here addressing Koda Kumi family name first and Ayumi Hamasaki given name first? I think proper nouns should be treated 'properly'. This is like saying "Britney Spears & Hilton Paris"!

Ayumi Hamasaki. Yes, I'm biased, cuz I don't fancy Koda Kumi's style, I think it ruins the essence of Japan's image (for obvious reasons). That's just how I feel.

I'd say another JPop princess is Nami Tamaki. She's made quite a name for herself at the age of around 19+ years old now? Looks and natural talent, she's my ideal JPop princess, next to Ayumi Hamasaki. ^_^

never heard of koda before and just went and tried to listen to a few of her songs, but wasn't interesting for me. i like a few of ayumi songs though. so i vote for ayumi.

The CyberTrance remixes of her songs were the first J-Pop music i ever remember hearing, and I fell in love with her voice and begged the guy to lend me his CD's XD XD

My favourite song of hers has to be depend on you, i remember trying to learn to sing it in Japanese without knowing what a single word meant !
