hmm...not sure if any1 mentioned this yet...but:
Himeyuri (Paradeis formed after they disbanded)
and the one and only korean/japanese boyband i've ever listened to:
Tohoshinki
^they're pretty cool cuz they sing in both Korean and Japanese, and so far the best song (to me) from them is 'Purple Line'

Question JRock Suggestions? - 08-08-2008, 07:05 PM

I'm looking to get more Japanese music, and I find that I like JRock moreso than JPop (there there are an incredible number of amazing JPop songs out there).

When I watch an anime, if I dig an opening/ending song, I usually do a bit of digging around to see what else the artist produced. But there's very few JRock artists that do anime (save for a few from Asian Kung-Fu Generation and the Bleach and Deathnote animes).

Does anyone have any suggestions of JRock/JRap (I'm thinking Shakkazombie here, if I spelled it right) artists that are pretty good/amazing?

We already have a thread for suggestions.

to answer your question, the best JRock band is X JAPAN.

They hold the record for selling out the Tokyo Dome three nights in a row in 1992. And after a 10 year breakup, they did it again, having 200,000 ticket requests on a PRE-SALE in under 2 hours..

what more needs to be said...

Hello

The fingertips iced over, the feeling faded
told myself I'd be happy just to make a clean break

I remember feeling like I was going mad
going to sleep with the urge to destroy

Told myself I'd be happy to be completely rid of you
every last trace
a line of something unfamiliar running down my face

No matter how you try to escape,
you won't get what you desire

No matter how you scream,
that which is broken can never be put together again
