Okay, this may not be the most appropriate place to ask this question, but it seemed like the thread with it's finger most directly "on the pulse" of the WHOLE Japanese music scene.

My question is this: I have many bands I like that have gotten "Japan-Only Special Edition" albums. Is this because they are very popular there?
Or is it, as my friend claimed, just an attempt to try to cash in on the "collectibles market"?

Oh yes, they have very good guitar sound I think

I really like that song too^ by Flumpool. I saw it on youtube when I was looking them up. I think I'm going to have to buy me their cd:P

I'd agree wth your friend. It's basically a way to tease out the collectors and make them pay wayyy too much money for an album. I'm a collector and I KNOW when I'm being taken advatage of.. sadly I don't care..
