Musicians like Agatsuma and Yoshida Kyoudai do a great job of blending shamisen with modern music. Good stuff ^-^ |

So, I looked through all the 7 pages and didn't see a punk thread and thought punk needed some love too. Anyone listen to any? Like Kyah? Or the amazing band The Stalin?! They're so great! If you don't listen to them.... go find a car, jump off of the top of it, then kick in the window and scream, the go back to your computer and find some of their music and listen to it... loudly. You won't regret it. AMERICAN SOUL SPIDERS? They did great covers of a couple of an American punk band The Dead Boys and a proto-punk band MC5. Stance Punks are a really fun band. So... anyone else into Japanese punk?

For sure there's some great stuff. I'm not huge on punk but I like some. The Stalin are definetly classic, they rock! I like Hi-standard (Ken Yokoyama and Aki Namba both are doin their own thing and still big) and The Cro-magnons (ex Blue Hearts and The High-lows members). Stance Punks don't really do much for me but they have some good stuff. Good Japanese punk rocks >_<\m/
