A little help . . . -
07-27-2008, 10:27 AM
Hi all,
Have just come back from a trip round China, and while in Shanghai I met an allegedly quite famous Japanese musician. We were at a jazz bar, and the band got him to come up and drum on a couple of tunes - he was really good. One of his entourage (the lady pictured) kept emphasising how famous he is in Japan, and said I should google him. I thought she said his name was "Yo" or something similar, but I don't seem to be able to find him on-line. He was playing a gig in Shanghai the following night - around the 18th July, I think. Just wondered if any Japan Forum users could satisfy my curiosity and suggest who he might be? ![]() |

Genre's? -
07-29-2008, 04:14 PM
As an American I've grown up with Country, Rock, Alternative, Rap, Hip-Hop, Emo, Screamo, Punk, Pop and all kinds of music.
What kinds of Genres are popular in Japan right now, and how similar are they to Genres I listen to in the states? |

Want to become singers in Japan - Advice for Jigoku- -
07-29-2008, 10:43 PM
We have a band or group called Jigoku-Cho that we started and we want to be famous in Japan.
Maybe you guys can give us some advice/criticism or just random comments.... We were wondering if maybe some of you guys know how we can pursue our dream better. We have sent DVDs of us singing to record companies like Sony, Toshiba, and Rythm Zone. I know how to speak Japanese and I am Japanese so the language part is not a problem for us. I am teaching my friend, the other member how to speak it but she can sing in Japanese very well besides some fast songs.... but she's still working on it. I have family there and we went there this summer together and stuff and had a lot of people we know hear us sing. They encouraged us a lot. YouTube - DaiteSenoir's Channel So please look at our page and videos and let us know what you think. YouTube - DaiteSenoir's Channel |
