Any more details on this drifting mustang in the uk? Mustangs are quite rare in the UK and I've never seen or heard of any drift prepared ones at any events nor have heard of one on any of the local forums, car clubs etc? Was it an older model or newer one?

It would make a change from all of the s13, s14, r32 and E30 bmw's that are the most common types of drifters in the uk

Whats your drift car?

Where can I see drifting in Japan? - 01-09-2008, 02:33 AM

Can anyone advise on where you can see drifting on a track?
Are there any websites that list drifting events in Japan?

Cheers

Mustangs are rare in the UK? haha they are a dime a dozen here! xD As much as a love the Silvia line, they are just like the mustang in the drift world and its hard to stand out. Although looking good may attract the girls, invest in getting at least an LSD and upgrading suspension if you are serious about drifting. Another reason why older cars are used may be its weight as they are lighter. Firm bucket seat, manual transmission, LSD, RWD, modified ebrake and a nice set of tires should be a good start. =3 Just to get off the streets, anyone knows what a pro drifter gets paid? If going in an oval a million times gets a paycheck, surly drifting is more than a hobby to some. Even if there is little or no pay, the joy of having sponsers must be bliss. The coolest drift car has got to be JIC's 600HP Porsche GT2! O.O

These are the main two championships in japan, so will have details of plenty of events on their sites:

D1 GRAND PRIX official web site

MSC

or here is the website for Tsukuba race track, which hosts a lot of events:

Tsukuba Circuit Web Site

Akoni, the reason Mustangs are rare over here is because they were never an official model sold in dealerships, so all the ones you find here are LHD and imported from America
