Kyokushin Karate

I've been out of training for about 6-8 months (I practice Muay Thai). I decided to try something new to get back into a training routine and went to a Kyokushin Karate class. Very impressed. It's tournament fighting I heard was full contact and the tactics somewhat similar to Muay Thai ones.

It also has the traditional side of it which I think looks interesting. Kata, some emphasis on bushido principles etc.

Anyway...I want to hear other opinions on it so please... contribute if you have one.

Dude thats awesome. I used to study Tae Kwon Do. I gave up though. I hoping to do something different, TKD didn't really feel like my kind of martial art.

Thanks man... I did TaeKwondo as a teenager too. I liked it.... very beautiful and graceful martial art.

I did it for a few months, It was good fun, tho i have since stopped. Ill stick with KM.

Krav Maga, I originally was just interested in learning some "Self Defence" but later found out it was actually "KM", one of the best things i decided to do too.

"Krav Maga (Hebrew: contact combat) is a military hand-to-hand combat system developed in Israel which emphasizes threat neutralization, often in a 'him-or-me' context. Krav Maga originated in the 1930s. Imi Lichtenfeld, its primary founder, fled Czechoslovakia to the British Palestine Mandate, now Israel, where it was further developed by the defence forces. There are several organisations teaching variations of Krav Maga internationally."
