Yeah but I know the basics, trained Goju Ryu Karate for about 3 years.
But I cant learn anything new by training by myself, just improve the old stuff.

Indeed it's impossible to learn new things.

The only martial art I've ever taken, about four or five years ago, was Aikido, and I didn't care much for it. I guess that type of martial art just isn't for a person like me, who kept getting nervous that I might hurt the person I was practicing with.

That aside, I've always been interested in Kendo and Kyudo. Does anyone here participate in Kyudo? If I get into JET and have a good placement near a place that teaches it, I'd like to join a Kyudo class.

If you are afraid to hurt anyone, I think you should try Kyudo!

Well, with Kendo, you have all that gear on, so that fear probably wouldn't be as intensified as throwing or tossing a person, like I had to do in Aikido. But yeah, I am highly interested in Kyudo. Maybe I'll try it someday.

I too would like to learn Kyudo. It is an expensive art though.

Right now I study Bujinkan Budo Taijutsu. BBT is an amazing art. Anybody else here study it?

not sure if this is just Japanese martial arts or what:P but anyway, I have quite some experience actually:P

Boxing
Taekwondo
Kyudo (not really sure if its counted as a martial art, but it is kinda:P)
and latly ive been reading up on Kendo and trying to find a Kendo club somewhere close by that I can join in on and learn the moves correctly as selflearning articles with movies and pictures aren't really that helpfull about it.

Help! - 09-14-2008, 09:27 PM

I am a 18 years old guy from Hungary. My dream and my aim is to get to Japan, and to learn martial arts from experienced teachers. The next year I want to go to an academy where I can acquire the basics of the Japanese language, but I feel it will be a waste of my time. I wish I could to go to Japan in a year! I want to learn the language, the culture and mostly the martial arts. That's everything to me. I don't care, if it's just 2 or 3 years... I would work hard to make this time enough for advance. Please, if anybody knows a chance for me to go to Japan and reach my goal, please write me an e-mail! It's very important to me! My email adress: awfulstorm@freemail.hu

She's pretty good.
