So...does anyone think Hakuho can catch Asashoryu? Maybe force a playoff?

I am watching, but not close enough or daily enough to have an opinion. It does seem like there are some very powerful and popular guys in there now, and it is good to see sumo maintain its place in the culture.

Keep your eye on a guy named Baruto. He's a giant Estonian who is having a very good tournament so far. He is the classic gentle giant, always grinning and giving a moment to the fans and such. In fact, one of his faults to this point has been the lack of a killer instinct. He won't win this tournament but he is on his way up and worth watching.

And Hatoyama turned up today on the last day of the tournament, adding some interest in the proceedings.
