Skiing - 03-04-2007, 01:23 PM

I'd just like to publicly thank PaulH for taking me skiing this weekend and paying for everything.
We took the shinkansen to Yuzawa and stayed at the Yuzawa New Otani hotel.
The snow was not good but as I hadn't skied in such a long time I didn't mind.
We did about 20 runs on Saturday and then went up to the advanced runs for today getting in about 15 runs.. After we went and had an onsen, dinner a few beers and we just got back to Pauls home now.

Have any of you ever been skiing in Japan?

Nope, in fact, I've never done that in my entire life X_X because it absolutely doesn't snow here in Singapore.. >_<" Is skiing in Japan different from skiing in other countries? I mean, those that have winter, as well, of course. ^^

Tell PaulH to share the wealth and take me to freaking Hokkaido. Honshu is getting crappy with all these spring temperatures.

Dry slope skiing? Yeah, i think i did that when i was in Autralia... It was more of skiing down a huge hill of sand though.. The problem was coming back up the steep slope after you were done.. My feet kept getting stuck in the sand! >_<" So after like 7 tries, i was pooped =P

wow you did it on sand! wierd!
iwhen i did it it was on these kinda brush things so they realllllllllllly hurt if you fall over cause it scrates your skin and makes you bleed but its sooooo much fun it was worth it
ive nvr done it on sand b4 but we dont have much sand here except for the beaches of course but they arent really suitable ;_;

Ouch... that's why we did it on sand, lol, so even if we did fall out, we wouldn't hv scraped our skins or anything
Lol, fun over health - spoken like a true warrior XD~!
You know, you could actually manually make a sandhill on any beach =P It's fun as well as worth it ^^
