Wii or PS3?

Complete hilarity yesterday.

Yesterday, Christmas eve, I went shopping to buy a chicken for dinner. The department store I went to was full of "trendy" parents, picking out gifts for their children - often with the children in tow, telling the parents what they wanted. I apparently got there just after they`d had their drawing for Wiis. (To discourage lines and crowding, they gave out little tickets for days ahead and then sold the Wiis they had to those with matching numbers. Far more random than lining up - whether you get one is all luck, not thanks to days waiting.)

Anyway, everyone was checking the number board as I passed, and I heard a wonderful conversation.
Child: Oh no... What are we going to do... We should have come earlier!
Father: That wouldn`t have helped. Our number wasn`t called.
Child: (cries)
Mother: What about those? (pointing to leftover PS3s on the shelf) There are still some of those left.
Father: HAHAHA. Nobody is buying THAT anymore!

I think that just about sums up the current PS3 market in Japan. Used game shops have even stopped buying them, as there are so many people trying to get rid of them that they can`t sell them.

I don't have PS3 but PS3 is very excellent, i know a GTA 4 in PS3 for 2007 years. But PS3 price too is expensive, i can't buy.

om gonna get a Wii soon, but il wait till they bring out a good deal, plus waiting at least 3 months is a must, because of bugs an stuff, i mean the Wii has had problems with the wrist strap thing right? i say Wii, PS3 is best bought in about 2 years

I am a Sony diehard. Plus I always have found Nintendo games a bit juvenile.

i always preferred ps too, but i am pretty satisfied with my ps2, so id rather check out the wii than be stuck in the same range of games. i havent had any nintendo consoles since the gameboy i had when i was a kid. but its too bad im a few hundred dollars short of either.

I wouldnt recomend getting a wii until march. I got mine start in december and Im bored of it already. The launch line-up is pretty bad and I think im just gonna trade it in or sell it to get a 360 cos theres a tone of ace stuff on that I wanna play.
Games Ive got for wii are:

Zelda: Great but still only an 8/10 game. Bit overhyped id say.
Need for Speed Carbon: Ruined by the control system
Rayman Raving Rabbids: This game is terrible and feels like it should be free
Super Monkey Ball: Ok but short single player and hit'n'miss multiplayer games
Wii Sports: Still gets played the most, which is quite sad really
Wii Play: Only got it for the controller, its shit

Games I was hopin for such as Metroid Prime 3, Super Smash Bros Brawl and Mario Galaxies arent out til end of march and even then I feel like it wont be worth the wait. No way in hell im spending next 3 months with just the above games when theres a lot of 360 stuff for me to devour.

Man...Sounds like Sony's home(Japan) has abandoned them.They're really screwed this time...

One thing I am finding over the net though is that people generally are having trouble coming to terms with the fact that we all have individual tastes, particularly with this round of consoles for some reason.
