The Final Fantasy Series

Final Fantasy XIII is coming to Xbox 360, Square-Enix has confirmed.

Speaking at Microsoft's E3 2008 press briefing, Square-Enix boss Yoichi Wada confirmed the stunning news, stating: "At long last, the day we've all been waiting for has arrived. It gives me great pleasure to unveil this to you today."

In no way understating the significance of the announcement, Microsoft's Don Mattrick said: "Final Fantasy XIII is an astonishing addition to our growing array of RPG titles.

"Final Fantasy joins a long list of former PlayStation franchises finding a new home on Xbox 360," he beamed. A lengthy trailer was shown, albeit entirely CG.

No release dates were mentioned, with the only information being that the 360 version would be available "at launch". Presumably later in 2009.

The news followed preview presentations of two of Square-Enix's other 360 RPGs, namely Star Ocean, due Spring 2009, and Infinite Undiscovery, out later this year.

Check back all the Square-Enix trailers, including FFXIII, later today.

To be honest, I'm not happy with this. Sony is losing his exclusive games easy of Microsoft and something like this has really effect on Sony and might lose there market domination in gaming. I hope Sony is going to announce something big tomorrow or else... I might keep my Xbox 360 xD.

that is a little dissapointing,i've been playing ff8 this morning and was thinking just how wonderfully suited the series is to the playstation's controls.i think it will be overcomplicated by the xbox,but then i have always been biased towards the playstation

I've had mine for a while and have been replaying it over and over, so I'm not sure what you have. But if you have the Garment Grid that absorbs Lighting equip that. Or you can equip any accesory that asorbs it. If you have the Cat Nip accsory (which I don't think you do at this point), equip that on a master gunner, and get them in Critical HP and they'll perform 9999 damage everytime. But have a mastered White Mage or Alchemist (who at least knows Mega Potion and Pheniox Down). The battle is always quite easy for me, so hope this helps.

Gahhhh! I am so pissed that FFXIII is going to the Xbox360! FF has always pretty much been a Playstion exclusive! Why change it now?! Dammit Enix! The Ps3 better get it first, I'm so damn tired of the 360 getting everything first over the Ps3!

It seems Microsoft finally offered the right price...

Square's gonna go downhill like all other developers who are swayed via money..

Well, I don't think Microsoft has 'swayed' with money, It's more that the development of Final Fantasy XIII is way too much that with the unit's of the Playstation 3 that already been sold they probably won't make much profit or maybe not even. Although Final Fantasy versus XIII will be still Playstation 3 exclusive but I don't think this will stay like this.

true, the xbox is doing horrible in Japan.
I'm only pissed cause it's Exclusiveness was already promised to the PS3 by Square, and now they're going back on it...

I'm more excited about Dissidia than anything else. I just wish Yazoo was in it. I love him.

Personally, from what I have seen of XIII so far, I am not very impressed. The character designs seem almost generic and the environments just don't really seem very interesting to me.

Hey, don't you guys think they should have a movie on some of the final fantasy games.....?

I really want to see a movie of FF8 and FF10/FF10-2....and FFXII...I think the last one is the one I have in mind...the one with the orphan boy and the princess who lost her prince in a war after their marriage...

I LOVE THE FINAL FANTASY SERIES!!!
