Luminous Arc - 11-27-2008, 09:18 AM

I got really attached to this game and found myself going back through to level my main characters more and get all the missed CG through building relationships. The story and the characters mixed pretty well, and the variety of personalities was a pleasantly refreshing experience. The battle system was pretty basic, but it was fun none the less. If there ever were an anime adaptation, I'd see it right away.
I really need to get a copy of the sequel. I hope it's as good...no, better than the first. That would make my day. Has anyone played the second game yet? Is it what I'm hoping for? Don't spoil anything, hahaha.

Anyway, post all your Luminous Arc material if you have any and begin discussion.

I have Luminous Arc 2 for the DS, and it was interesting when I played it. The two-screen portrait when the engagement system is used was impressive.

What I didn't like was the lack of combat when the opposing army's turn comes. Really removes the point of choosing which direction one of your characters faces when the nearby enemy unit moves to the weak side and hits hard anyways. The other feature I didn't particularly like was the friendly damage. The main character's brother is a powerful ranged melee spear wielder, but you can't have friendly units in his line of attack or they get hit as hard as the enemy does.

The voiceover work is excellent, a welcome high point in a portable game.

Fortunately, there is one woman in this world who can control me.

Unfortunately for you, she is not here.
