Getting PS3...what games do you recommend?
 

We're probably getting a PS3 soon, and I'm wondering what everyone's recommendations would be game-wise. My favorite genres are FPS, RPG, Action, or any combinations of those three. Any opinions would be greatly helpful, thanks! ¦3

I actually saw a preview for that game. I'm not huge on racing games, but this actually looks pretty effin' cool. I'll keep that in mind, thanks.
But besides the cover, have you played it? Is it really what it puts out to be?

a few RPGs i suggest:
Eternal Sonata (although i didn't like this game, uriko loves it, and she's more of a rpg fan than me)
Untold Legends
Valkryria Chronicles
Fallout 3

the problem is that there aren't that many RPGs for the ps3 that are worth mentioning, not til ff13 at least

fps:
Resistance 1 and 2 (keep in mind i don't play FPSs, but these 2 games are an exception. that's how good they are)
Unreal Tournament (assuming your PC can't play it)
Call of Duty (any of them)
again, i don't play FPSs. i only own resistance 1 and 2. i just heard that unreal tourney and call of duty were good

action:
metal gear solid 4

sorry, i can't stress enough how important it is for you to get that game >_>
bioshock (i don't own it. but it's suposed to be good)
ratchet and clank future (it was really fun :) )
heavenly sword (i'm sad that they canceled the 2nd one :( )

i also suggest time crisis 4. but that's just cause i'm a huge fan of that game.

Thanks a bunch Yegohi! That helped a lot. I've heard that Resistance 1 and 2 are awesome. I watched a crazy video of these zombie-like creatures in masses attacking this guy, it was nuts.

MGS4? Of course.

Heavenly sword looks pretty badass, I'll do more research on that.

I already have Fallout 3 on the PC ;] I prefer my FPS's on PC anyway. Same for Bioshock and Call of Duty games.

Valkyrie Chronicles looks interesting. More research...

Untold Legends: I love action RPGs, so I'll definitely look into that.

And finally, Final Fantasy XIII which I'm looking forward to. My friend is crazy about it and can't wait for it to come out. I hope it lives up to his expectations or he might commit harakiri -.-;;

I heard a rumor that NamcoxBandai is working on another Xenosaga game, but not Episodes IV through VI. It was supposed to be some action game with KOS-MOS as the heroine... I dunno, if it true, I'm definitely getting it, since I'm a fan of Xenosaga. And I also hope it doesn't let me down -.-;

ill tell some i like that my friend has, GTA 4, naruto ultimate ninja storm(obviously if you like naruto, but good even if you dont) Oblivion!, dark sector seemed good also. and i know this will be awesome when it does come out......FF13 VERSUS!^.^

Not a fan of Naruto >.> GTA 4 sounds pretty good, and I already have Oblivion for PC and like 20gbs of mods, so I'm set there, hahahaha. Dark Sector seems interesting, I'll have to check that out.

Although its not out yet I would recomend resident evil five
