That's a tough one!
I don't really have like an all time favourite character, but one of my favourites right now is Jecht from FFX. I think it's because I've been playing a lot of FF lately (I'm about to kick Kefka's ass in FFVI!), and for some reason I've always liked Jecht. I really think he's a nice guy deep down, and his tattoo is pure awesomesauce! Another character that I like a lot is Milia Rage from the Guilty Gear series (been playing GGX2 #Reload like 24/7 the past couple of days). I love her fighting style, she looks great, and.. I don't know.. The darkness, sadness and hate that you experience when you play her story modes makes her a really interesting character in my opinion.
