Your PC and Japan's

I have been wondering for quite some time now, but in Japan do you have processors w/ Hyper-threading? (for those that don't know what that means, it basically means that the processor can can multitask but to a very limited extent so in other words it can multitask but not as good as a Core 2 duo) I'm sorta the PC nerdy guy >.> so this is why i've been wondering...lol
but incase you were wondering I got a
- P4 HT 3ghz.
- 1.5gb RAM @ 400 DDR
- 500W PSU
- nvidia 7600GT
- samsung display 17"
- Microsoft Intellipoint <-- not the best for gaming >>
- 110GB HDD

Right now, I'm using 7 years old PC which has

- P3 1.1GHz.
- 640M RAM SDRAM
- No PSU
- nvidia 7600GT
- Laptop with 12" screen
- 40GB HDD

It's enough to use Japanese version of WIndows XP.

(My main machine is 2.8GHz+2G Mem)

OMG, do you think Intel and AMD ships different processors there? We're all the same.

Nothing is different when it comes to key hardware in Japan.
Absolutely nothing.
The differences are in software, and even that is really just superficial (language differences - that`s about it.)

I used to have a processor with HT - years ago. Now I have this...

- Core 2 Quad 2.83 OC to 3.4Ghz
- 4GB DDR2 @ 800
- NVIDIA 9800GT
- 21" wide LCD
- 1.5TB HDD (1TB and 500GB)

No difference as far as I can tell to things available elsewhere.

Really? All these parts are over a year old, and on the cheap now. You could probably pick them up and make the same for not all that much. Another small leap and you can get i7, DDR3, and GeForce 260. :mtongue:

The key is putting it together yourself and not going through some vendor. I`m too lazy to replace the motherboard just for the next step up so this is it for a while.

I'm sorry, I miss-understood that you mean something like UPS by PSU.
I use AC adapter less than 100W for my laptop.
