RE4 help... please?
 

I'm in the village where you first enter and I killed so many Las Plagas wannabes that I got the cut scene where they all run away into that building and yell "Lord something"... I honestly don't want to run into Dr. Salvador (oh, yes... I've heard many stories about this chainsaw wielding madman...) but I don't know any easy ways to kill him when I don't have the shotgun yet. Can anyone help?

You've just started RE4 huh? My first play through was hell, now I have my upgraded weapons and it's great (which I reccomend if you have to money and all the supplies you need to stay alive, upgrade your weapons, with a fully upgraded handgun you can kill the 'zombies' in 2-3 hits).

But yes, the chainsaw guys do suck. I still hate fighting them. Since I don't remember all the weapons you start off with (just a handgun right?), and even if you have more powerful weapons (which you should use against him if you have them), put some distance between you and him and fire away. If he gets to close run away, putting distance between you two, and fire, rinse and repeat.

Dr. Salvador is tough, because of the paper bag he wears on his head.
It makes him tough because that paper bag is...... ummm.... I don't know man.

Anyway, in order to defeat him, you must use your knife (L2).
The technique is you must tear off the head gear he's wearing,
to make him vulnerable.

Run towards him, aim your knife right at his fece.
Then..... oh yeah...... attack him with it....
After that you'll get to see a SPLENDID cut-scene!!!!!

^You're one of the risk taking players aren't ya? Haha, I've personally never knew you could take his headcover off since getting close enough to knife him is pretty risky, since he's so fast and he's a one-hit kill guy.

I've never heard anything about this..if its true I'm going to be astonished. lol

You should be able to find your shotgun in a case on the wall upstairs in one of the buildings. That being said, I think you can progress without having to confront the chainsaw guy.

You should find some kind of key to the gate you need to go through. (You'll find it in the town.) I don't remember if one of the ganados drops it or if it is just laying somewhere, but I know the chainsaw guy doesn't have it. He will occasionally drop a ruby, though. (nice!)

okay so i hope no one really tried the cutting the paper bag off of his face thing. thats retarded. you just have to run. you can kill him but it would be a waste of ammo.

I say stop being a pansy and kill him, not like theres a lack of ammo in this game..Its a damn shame to the RE series.
