There's a book that says which chinese character to include in all your children, it changes every generation and is different for each different kinds of clans. For example there are different kinds of Kim's, like Gimhae Kim, andong Kim (It's all city name). It would be like having a Boston Smith or New York City Smith.

But some people name their child in pure Korean.
