Why do you need it in Japanese? Doesn't he speak English? If not, how do you two communicate? If its because you want him to read it on his native language, what are you going to do when he responds in Japanese?

I would stick to what I know.... Write it in English and you'll be able to express yourself better than anyone can interpret your feelings through translation....
