Is there anyone living in Australia that may know anywhere that has cheaper softbank mobile phone that acutally work over here?!
In Sydney preferrably.

If I remember correctly, Australia should now be using a 3G spectrum that is based on W-CDMA. It is likely to be compatible with phones that uses the softbank W-CDMA phone. But you probably will need to find someone who can program the phone to work. Check with your local service provider, get them to generate a list of supported spectrum and bring it to a softbank rep and see if they can help you
