1Seg confusion

Hi
I'm trying to find out how many channels are available as part of the 1seg mobile TV service. Also, is it a free service or are there any associated charges?

The channel list varies by region. I get 10 channels in Tokyo, but can only receive three out here in the countryside. There are no charges for the service (I get it on my phone through Docomo, and I also receive it on my PSP).
