Backing up and transferring information on my keitai - 11-20-2008, 09:36 AM

Can anyone tell me a way to backup contact information on my keitai to my PC and transfer that information to a new keitai? I use docomo.

Thanks!
Steve

There should be a menu option to copy the data directly to the card which you will need for a new phone.
They also offer an online back up service that you can use free of charge.

If anyone is trying to find me… Tamyuun on Instagram is probably the easiest.

Thanks for the tip! What do I need to buy to connect the phone to the PC? Can this be done with a Mac? Can it be done with any docomo phone?

Thanks again!

just buy a sd card or microsd card. both should have the same card slots. i am note sure but if you have bluetooth on both of your handsets, you could transfer data easily using that.

Connect to the PC?
That`s not necessary. You can back up your contact list / address book directly to the SIM card. The online service is also accessed directly from the phone itself, not via PC.
Anything you have paid for and downloaded, no matter what they may be, will not be accessible even if you copy them to an SD card. They are locked to the phone unit itself.

Thanks for the reply. At the docomo shop I saw them connect my keitai to a PC where they transferred the information to another keitai. I tried looking on the menu of my phone for backing up the info to the SIM card but I couldn't find it...

And how do I find the online service to backup the info from my phone?

Thanks again!

If you saw them use a PC the last time Docomo transferred your files, why not let Docomo do it again? Are there no Docomo shops in your area?
